This font pays homage to the rare African skunk monkey. The skunk monkey, scarcely bigger than a rabbit is one of the smallest primates. It is believed to be a distant cousin of the common skunk, and like its North American relative it too has a wonderfully mottled black and white coat, providing an excellent nocturnal camouflage for this treetop dweller.
Unlike the common skunk it doesn't have developed scent glands to repel would-be predators; instead it relies on an altogether different survival technique. When confronted by a predator the skunk monkey sheds it's distinctive coat and darts away naked leaving the assailant somewhat confused. These coats are collected from the forest floor by the local pygmies who wear them throughout the winter months. Any change in the global climate is likely to have a devastating effect on this unique mammal.
